Stardust Studio was born out of the ideas behind Lush Life Films, as a way to take our collective’s vision and give it a physical home in Mae Sot. It’s our space to grow, share, and support each other creatively.

Stardust is a small (even if the space itself doesn’t feel so small) but growing gallery in Mae Sot, dedicated to supporting Myanmar artists in exile and anyone with an interest in film, photography, and creative expression. We know how difficult it can be to keep making art when opportunities are limited, so we try to create a space where artists can connect, collaborate, and keep creating.

Why Stardust?

Our idea behind the space is to support Myanmar artists in exile and anyone with a passion for film, photography, and artistic expression who may not have have the opportunities to pursue their craft. We work on creating a space that brings together different communities living at the border, creating connections, collaborations and creative expression.

Movie Nights

At Stardust Studio, Movie Nights bring films from local, mostly Myanmar, directors to the big screen, giving their work the audience it deserves. More than just screenings, these evenings create a space for conversation, as audiences can engage directly with the filmmakers through Q&A sessions, share thoughts, and gain a deeper appreciation for the stories and experiences on screen.

Exhibitions

At Stardust, artists can showcase their work, whether photographs, paintings, etc. Our goal is to give creatives a place to display their art, share it with a wider audience, and even have the chance to sell their work. We hope to support artists and make the studio a lively and inspiring place for art and creativity.

Further Events & Activities

Stardust Studio is more than just a gallery or cinema. The space has hosted live painting sessions, poetry recitals, craft markets, and a variety of workshops, bringing together local artists, students, and community members.

The studio is also a flexible space for film and video shoots, providing an inspiring environment for both professional and student projects.
